Grief is a normal and natural response to loss. Grief is often impacted by numerous things such as the relationship they had with the individual, how their loved one died, their support systems, and their own understanding and past experiences with. Each person has their own strengths and weaknesses when faced with challenging and powerful emotion that come with death and grief.

 

Grief is an individualized process that everyone experiences differently. Some individuals feel better within a few weeks, while others may grieve for years. Some believe the grieving process never ends, but individuals learn to live with the experience of loss in their life. It is important to not ignore the pain of grief and seek out supports, especially if it is impacting your daily functioning

 

Supporting those through Grief & Loss in Kitchener-Waterloo

Grief is a process unique to each individual. For this reason, I use an eclectic approach to explore the nature of grief. Children and adolescents may benefit from arts-based methods to explore their grief, emotion processing, as well as mindfulness and cognitive behaviour therapy.
