We live in a world that is ever focused on looks and achievement. It’s easy to feel that our bodies are flawed and that we will never be good enough. Body image is how you view yourself. It is what you believe about your own appearance, how you feel about your body, and how you physically experience your body. People with poor body image are more likely to experience disordered eating or be diagnosed with an eating disorder.

Research has shown that the better we feel about our bodies the more likely we are to take care of them by engaging in balanced eating and healthy exercise. I work from an anti-dieting, health at every size lens. I take an eclectic approach to support individuals with body image concerns and low self-esteem. Typical therapeutic modalities are cognitive behaviour therapy, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness skills, and emotion focused therapy.
