Therapy for Anxiety in Kitchener-Waterloo

Anxiety can alert us to dangers and help us prepare and pay attention. However, anxiety disorders are quite different from normal feelings of anxiousness. They involve excessive fear or anxiety. If you have anxiety, you may be noticing yourself avoiding situations that may trigger the uncomfortable and unsettling feelings of anxiety. Your performance at school, your career, and your personal relationships can be affected.

Anxiety disorders are treatable, and a number of effective treatments are available, depending on the presentation. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is the recommended treatment for treating anxiety. Components from other therapeutic modalities, such as dialectical behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotion focused therapy are also utilized for individuals who feel they need a more individualized approach. 

 

I offer online therapy for individuals who struggle to attend in person due to their anxiety.
